MISS Free State 2013 finalist Dipapela Mbola says her failure to win the provincial tiara has not dissuaded her from going again for the crown in next year’s edition.
The 21-year-old model, a business management student at the University of the Free State, says it was disappointing for her not to make it this year.

“My family and friends were very shocked when I did not make it but next year is just around the block for me to claim the crown,” Mbola told the Free State Times this week.

She had gone into this year’s Miss Free State finals as one of the favourites after she had claimed the 2011 Miss Sundowns FC Free State and 2012 Miss Pirates Free State titles. In 2010, Mbola was voted Miss Atlehang High School.

She says she had challenged herself to win the 2011 Miss Sundowns FC national pageant but she could only make it into the top five.
“But that was not the end . . . in fact it was only the beginning,” Mbola said. In the 2013 Miss Free State held in May she could however not make it into the top three, with Annerien Eramus winning the crown.
